Is my money safe with this bookie as I have never heard of them before and do they ask for ID before withdrawing?
Luxbet, being based 'down under' is run licensed and controlled by the Australian government so you can be sure your deposit is in good hands so, ipso facto they sometimes ask for ID from foreign account holders to check identity.
Checked T&C's for this new addition to your website. Unless you're a resident of Australia then there's a AUD30 charge for all withdrawls from your account. You can deposit by any method, but international customers have to accept an International Bank Transfer - hence the charge. AUD30 will wipe out most of your free bet gains - so unless the Betfair leg of the bets are winners it's not worth doing.
We contacted them about this and they said: There is no international withdrawal fee, please disregard that statement on the website. We are currently in the process of updating that part of our website.
T&Cs - International clients must supply us with certified copies of all ID documents by mail only and they must be the versions originally certified by your independent person (ie not photocopied or scanned after the independent person has certified them).
MAIL only?
Independent person
An independent person must view your original ID and be able to assert that your Primary ID and Secondary ID (see below) is valid and not expired. An independent person is defined as, but not limited to, an MP of any jurisdiction, Council worker, bank employee, insurance employee, nurse, doctor, dentist, pharmacist, vet, judge, magistrate, lawyer, a government employee, a tax agent, an accountant, director of a corporation, an employee of any regulatory body, a police officer, Justice of the Peace or teacher.
Seems like a right pain in the backside to get a free £60.
Not worth all the hastle :(
